Sigma Shamrocks 2022!

Dean J. Condoleo

On March 14, 2022, the men of the Iota Tau Chapter of Sigma Pi Fraternity and the women of the Zeta Mu Chapter of Gamma Phi Beta teamed up to facilitate their annual Sigma Shamrocks, St. Patrick's Day themed fundraiser. Brother James Ligas exclaimed, "It was a great showing from Sigma Pi and Gamma Phi Beta. We raised around $500 for the Muscular Dystrophy Association, with even more coming next week for our Venmo challenge." Over 40 brothers and sisters of Sigma Pi and Gamma Phi Beta came out to Marillac Hall on St. John's Campus to support the cause.

The Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) "continues to relentlessly pursue our [their] promise to transform the lives of people living with muscular dystrophy, ALS, and related neuromuscular diseases, through research, care, and advocacy." The MDA states that "Families are at the heart of MDA's mission."

New Member Zack Simpson "thought it was a great experience where many great friends came together for a good cause. Some of the people that donated did not even know what Muscular Dystrophy was at first, so I believe that it was good to be able to educate them and hopefully spread awareness."
